This album came about after working on a transmission for Trash Flow Radio that occurred on Sept. 5 2020. The show was a three hour homage to the Japanese Ambient Satellite, St. Giga, whose music transmissions flow according the tides. I had written an article on the subject of the satellite [ www.sothismedias.com/home/the-lunar-phases-of-st-giga ] and I was still obsessed with it, so doing the radio show episode about it, and making this album were part of how I paid tribute to an iconic piece of communications & music history.

The show also featured many other tracks, and a special mix from our good friend One Deck Pete, aka Madtone (who also made the graphics for this album). His "Rule of Twelfths" mix starts in at about the 43 minute mark of the program.

For the radio show I was helped by the Situationist Intergalactical (Radio Hacker Division) with getting a link set up to the dead satellite. The hackers were able to reboot it remotely and get it back on line, and furthermore, provided a downlink into Trash Flow Radio's receptacle programming unit. This formed the bed of the radio show mix. That sound bed has been further modified with DSP software to create the sonic bed for the album at hand. To this mix further drones and other material were recorded, in harmony with the lunar tides, for your enjoyment.
